    • The teachings presented herein enable a user terminal to perform a fast recovery from a radio link failure. In one aspect, the improvement in recovery time is achieved by commanding or otherwise causing the user terminal to perform radio link failure (RLF) recovery at a cell that is known to possess the user context, while considering that this cell should yield good radio conditions (if not the best) to the user terminal. A cell may be predefined for use by the user terminal in recovering its radio connection. Based on providing signal strength thresholds to the user terminal, for use in determining whether to use a predefined cell for reconnecting to the network, the user terminal attempts RLF recovery first in the predefined cell. By providing user context to the predefined cell in advance of a recovery attempt by the user terminal, the time for recovery is lessened. Note that the user terminal also may infer which cells are preferred.

    • Method and arrangement in a first base station for scheduling in a TDD wireless network, which wireless network comprises the first base station serving a user equipment, and a second base station. The method comprises detecting that the second base station uses a different TDD configuration, instructing the user equipment to provide a signal strength measurement report based on a signal received from the second base station, receiving the measurement report, and allocating resources to the user equipment based on the received measurement report. Thereby is allocation of resources in TTIs not having the same uplink-downlink direction in the first base station and the second base station respectively, is avoided for the user equipment, when the received signal strength measurement report indicates that such allocation is appropriate. Also, a method and arrangement in a user equipment for scheduling in a TDD wireless network is described.

    • One aspect of the teachings herein involves the advantageous use of learned statistical information to improve inter-cell interference coordination, "ICIC". A network (20) uses historical signal quality measurements collected over time for wireless communication devices (36) operating within its coverage areas to identify those geographical areas where devices (36) generally experience significant levels of patterned interference. In an example case, the network (20) develops a "map" of the geographical areas that are affected by the transmission patterns of neighboring nodes (26, 30), and it applies the map to ICIC operations, wherein the serving nodes associated with the affected areas incorporate knowledge of the interfering transmission patterns into the ongoing scheduling of devices (36) operating in the affected areas.
