    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of more largely reducing the production amount of sludge to be disposed of than a method for returning sludge to an aerobic biological treatment method after anaerobic digestion, in the aerobic biological treatment of organic wastewater. SOLUTION: In the biological treatment of organic wastewater, organic sludge produced in an aerobic biological treatment process and/or organic sludge produced in a first sedimentation process is concentrated to form concentrated sludge and, after the concentrated sludge is subjected to solubilization treatment by ultrasonic treatment, it is decomposed in an anaerobic digestion process and a part or the whole of digested sludge issued from the anaerobic digestion process is returned to the aerobic biological treatment process or the concentrated sludge is decomposed in the anaerobic digestion process and a part of the digested sludge issued from the anaerobic digestion process is solubilized by ultrasonic treatment to be returned to the anaerobic digestion process and a part or the whole of the residual digested sludge is returned to the aerobic biological treatment process, and residual digested sludge is disposed.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a coagulant satisfying excellent characteristics only with a simple operation by adding a mixture of alkaline silicate and starch to an acidic aqueous solution containing trivalent iron ions or tetravalent titanium ions and mixing them.
