摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polysulfone-based polymer having a new structure, a polyelectrolyte membrane including the polymer, a membrane-electrode joining body including the polyelectrolyte membrane, a fuel cell containing the polyelectrolyte membrane, and a method for producing the polysulfone-based polymer. SOLUTION: The polysulfone-based polymer includes recurring units each represented by chemical formula. In the formula, X is a single bond or Ar 1 , which is substituted or unsubstituted 6-20C arylene group; M 1 and M 2 are each mutually independently H, lithium, sodium, or potassium; a+b=5 and c+d=5, wherein (a) and (c) are each mutually independently an integer of 1-5; (e) and (f) are each mutually independently an integer of 0-4; R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each mutually independently a 1-20C straight-chain or branched-type alkyl group, a 2-20C alkenyl group, a 2-20C alkynyl group, a 5-20C cycloalkyl group, a 6-20C aryl group, a 2-20C heteroaryl group, a 7-20C alkylaryl, or 1-20C alkoxy group; and (n) denotes polymerization degree, being 10-10,000. SOLUTION: In the activating method of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell MEA, after the fuel cell is mounted on a device in order to be activated, and in a process fractionated into two stages through which activation is carried out, a first stage in which a humidified gas is supplied for electrolyte hydration of a membrane and an electrode, and a second stage in which a CV (cyclo voltammetry) activation method is carried out for activation of an electrode layer are carried out. In the first stage, an electronic load and an impressing device are not used, but only a humidified air is supplied, and during a CV cycle of the second stage, a voltage of an arbitrary value between 0 to 3 V is circulated.
