摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight structure of an joint prosthesis, to provide a design of the joint prosthesis with multi-structure elements which can use a potentially available bearing surface of a joint more effectively, and to provide the joint prosthesis with multi-structure elements which has head members formed in eccentric alignment to shank/body elements.
SOLUTION: A kit for assembly of a modular joint prosthesis includes at least two shank/body elements sized for insertion into the shank of the bone and at least two head members sized to replace one bearing surface of the joint. Each shank/body element has a collar that has a shallow width and a circular plan view and that is formed to overhang a resected level of the bone. The collar has a male taper on its side wall. Each head member has a first geometric axis therethrough and defines a part spherical cavity with a skirt extending about the cavity. The skirt provides a female taper for receiving and providing a mechanical connection with the male taper on the side wall of each collar. A second axis extends through the skirt. The first axis and second axis may be coincident or offset from one another.

摘要： Un componente (10) de vástago de una prótesis de articulación de cadera o de una prótesis de articulación de hombro, para su implantación en el canal (20) medular del fémur o del húmero, respectivamente, definiendo el fémur o el húmero unos trabéculos (60) en su hueso esponjoso proximal y definiendo unas laminillas en su hueso cortical, presentando el vástago (32) una porción (52) proximal y una porción (54) distal, presentando la porción proximal unas caras anterior y posterior y una periferia (69) medial y presentando unas características (64) sobre una porción sustancial de su superficie para transferir una carga desde la prótesis hasta el fémur o el húmero, en el que las características de superficie comprenden una pluralidad de escalones que se extienden alrededor de las caras (70, 72) anterior y posterior y de la periferia (69) medial de la porción proximal, caracterizado porque los escalones están dispuestos para que cada uno de ellos se extienda a lo largo de las caras anterior y posterior según un ángulo seleccionado con respecto a la periferia medial de 90º.
