    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a mold for molding a honeycomb structure which can prevent the breakage of a grind wheel when slit grooves are formed and form the slit grooves in a desired shape.
      SOLUTION: In the method for producing the honeycomb structure, the mold has a feeding hole 12 and lattice-shaped slit grooves 13 communicating with the feeding hole 12. When the slit grooves 13 are formed, a mold material 11 is ground while the rotating grind wheel 25 is advanced to form the slit grooves 13 in the shape of a lattice (slit groove forming process). In the slit groove forming process, the mold material 11 is ground while cooling water is sprayed from at least two directions to catch both sides of the grind wheel 25. Alternatively, a cooling water ejection port 3 having a notch for catching both sides of the grind wheel 25 is arranged in the rear in the advance direction of the grind wheel 25, and the slit grooves are formed while the cooling water is sprayed from the cooling water ejection port 3 on the grind wheel 25.
