摘要： Absorbent products and wet wipes are disclosed that are useful in reducing the amount of ammonia produced by bacteria on or near the skin or in bodily fluids such as urine. The products described herein contain an osmoregulation protector which when introduced into a bacteria-containing environment interacts with the bacteria and reduces the amount of ammonia produced by the bacteria without significantly affecting the growth rate of the bacteria. The osmoregulation protectors described herein are particularly useful in combination with adult incontinence garments where the control of odors from bacterial by-products such as ammonia is highly desirable.

摘要： A liquid surfactant composition includes at least one anionic surfactant and at least one cationic surfactant. The combination of surfactants is formulated to provide a liquid composition that swells in the presence of water or body fluids, becomes a moldable solid in the presence of an excess of water, and adheres to surfaces. In addition, the liquid surfactant composition may be incorporated into or onto a substrate, such as an absorbent substrate, a fabric or cloth substrate, a tissue substrate, or a protective garment substrate.

摘要： Methods for adjusting the solubility of a botanical oil in water, along with the resulting modified botanical oil and related products (e.g., treatment compositions, wipes, absorbent articles, etc.) are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes reacting the botanical oil to form a reactive product (e.g., having a hydroxyl group); and attaching a hydrophilic end group (e.g., a carboxylic acid, a carboxylic acid salt, a sugar, etc.) on the reactive product to form a modified botanical oil. The modified botanical oil generally, in most embodiments, has a greater solubility in water than the botanical oil (e.g., a solubility in water of about 10 grams per 100 grams of water or greater, such as completely soluble in water). The botanical oil includes, in one particular embodiment, an essential oil, such as those essential oil that include at least one terpene compound.

摘要： Formulations and wipes for imparting a sporicide to a surface are disclosed herein. Unexpectedly, a set of naturally derived ingredients have been found to combat and treat spore-based bacteria without the use of harsh chemicals. To achieve the sporicidal efficacy of the product, botanical extracts and/or botanical-derived ingredients have been incorporated into a sporicidal formulation. Example botanical extracts that demonstrated sporicidal activity include: Garcinia morella, Setaria italica, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Psoralea corylifolia. An example botanical-derived ingredient that demonstrated sporicidal activity included gambogic acid. Unexpectedly, use of these botanicals and/or botanical-derived ingredients on skin provided a sporicidal benefit. Other botanicals and/or botanical extracts were not found to have sporicidal efficacy.

摘要： A cleansing composition is described. The cleansing composition generally contains an antimicrobial agent, a heating agent, and a thermochromic agent. During use, the heating agent heats the composition so that the antimicrobial agent becomes more effective. The thermochromic agent, on the other hand, changes the color of the composition as it is heated in order to indicate to a user that the composition is at a desired temperature. In an alternative embodiment, instead of containing a heating agent, a heating source can be used to heat the composition. The heating source can be, for instance, an electrical resistance heater.

The gripping component is disposed for engaging and gripping the tissue layer in the first state until a force greater than the threshold force is encountered which transforms the engagement surface to promote relative sliding motion between the engagement surface and the tissue layer.

摘要： Wet and dry wipes comprising additives for removing allergens from surfaces are disclosed. The wipe substrate comprises an additive capable and binding the allergen onto the substrate such that the allergen can be removed from the surface. Various allergens including animal and pet dander can be removed from numerous surfaces utilizing the wipes of the present invention. In some embodiments of the invention, the allergenicity of the allergen is also reduced. Suitable additives for immobilization onto the wipe substrate include lectins, proteases, and enzyme inhibitors.

The formulations comprise an anionic particles, microfibers, or compounds which dislodge contaminants from skin through electrostatic interactions. The anionic particles, compounds, or microfibers can easily be incorporated into various products for improved skin cleaning and removal of the contaminant from the skin. The anionic particles do not necessarily kill microbes on the skin, but dislodge them from the skin surface such that they and other contaminants can easily be removed away from the skin by a substrate.
