    • Methods, systems, and computer program products for presenting a plurality of options for selection. Each option is organized into either a category or a sub-category that is associated with a category. The association between categories and sub-categories is independent of time. Categories are displayed along one axis and sub-categories are displayed simultaneously along another orthogonal axis. The axis chosen for categories may depend on the direction that text associated with the categories is written. Categories and sub-categories are available for immediate selection, without first having to highlight or select any option. To account for a large number of options, categories and sub-categories may scroll as needed. The appearance of categories and sub-categories may be distinguished in some way, such as through colors, fonts, or borders.

    • An interactive television system displays a television program having an associated channel. The system also displays an interactive television mode indicator if the displayed television program supports an interactive television mode. The interactive television mode is activated in response to a request from a viewer of the television program to activate the interactive television mode. The system updates a channel status list to indicate that the television program is being viewed in the interactive television mode. The system is also able to handle requests for activating an online television mode. When changing channels, the channel status list is used to restore a previously activated interactive television ii mode or online television mode for a particular television channel. Two different indicators may be displayed to indicate whether the television program supports an interactive television mode and/or an online television mode.

    • A process for tracing an operator selected feature in an M-mode ultrasonic image comprises selecting a pixel of the selected feature within the M-mode image. A reference region is generated about the selected feature pixel and image intensity values are extracted for the reference region. A time point is selected in the M-mode ultrasonic image wherein the time point is at a different time than the selected feature pixel and a comparison region is generated about the selected time point. Image intensity values are extracted for the comparison region and a difference error is calculated for each location within the comparison region by comparing the reference region image intensity values with the comparison regions image intensity values. The location that has the smallest difference error is identified as a feature pixel at the time point.
