    • A lawn mower having a deck height adjustment mechanism for simultaneously adjusting a height of a deck of a lawn mower at all four wheels of the lawn mower by the use of a single hand of the operator. The mechanism includes an index plate having a plurality of teeth thereon defining a plurality of deck height positions, and therefore a plurality of height positions of a cutting blade supported by the deck. The index plate is fixedly secured to an offset rear axle. An engaging plate having a pawl is coupled to an actuating member which is slidably, vertically moveable relative to the deck when the operator grips the actuating member and pulls upwardly away from the deck, while resting a palm of the same hand on a palm rest portion of the mechanism. A linkage member couples the index plate to a bracket of an offset front axle positioned at a front end of the deck. The operator adjusts the height of the deck relative to a ground surface by pulling upwardly with the fingers of one hand on the actuating member, while resting the palm of the same hand on the palm rest. This causes the engaging plate, and thus the pawl thereon, to be drawn out of engagement with the teeth of the index plate. The operator, while holding the actuating member engaged, may either pull upwardly with the same hand, thus raising the entire deck of the mower, or may urge the deck into a lower position. Movement of the index plate causes a simultaneous rotational movement of the offset front axle. Thus, all four corners of the deck are caused to be raised or lowered simultaneously as the operator either lifts or lowers the deck while engaging the actuation member.

    • A mold gate for an inner tube mold is provided with a plurality of apertures for selectively receiving valve stems therein for bonding to the inner tube. A plug is inserted into each of the nonselected apertures to enable the single gate to be used to cure inner tubes having different valve positions to eliminate changing the gate each time a different valve location is required for a given mold. When the valve stem receiving openings are in close proximity to each other an elongated plug is placed in an elongated gate aperture to selectively seal one of the two valve stem openings while enabling the other opening to remain unblocked for receiving a valve stem during the molding operation.

    • An electrical lead has a first set of terminals (14) at one end of the lead and a second set of terminals (15) at the other end of the lead. A connector circuit (11,12) respectively connects the terminals (14) to the terminals (15). This circuit (11,12) is adjustable so as to change the connection paths between the first and second sets of terminals (14,15). The connector circuit (11,12) is surrounded by a security enclosure which comprises flexible sheet means of electrically insulating material carrying an array of lines of electrically security conductors. Monitoring means are connected to the security conductors to detect a change in an electrical characteristic thereof resulting from damage to the security enclosure. The invention can be used in a financial terminal, and provides security against a fraudulent attack on the lead intended to gain access to confidential information, such as a personal identification number, transmitted over the lead.

    • A restriction insert adapted to be mounted on a spider of an extrusion die has a generally hollow body formed by integral first and second conical walls wherein the first conical wall has a larger inner diameter than that of the second conical wall. A pair of spaced axially extending material inner flow passages are formed concentrically about the axial bore opening in an outer end of the second conical wall and communicates with the interior of the body. A frustro-conical shaped groove is formed in the outer end of the second conical wall within the interior of the body to provide a tapered flow path for the material entering the inner flow passages. A pair of outer flow passages are formed concentrically in an annular shoulder at the junction of the conical walls. A generally pointed annular edge is formed on the interior of the second conical wall and in combination with the tapered inner surface of the first conical wall form tapered flow paths for the material entering the outer flow passages. The outer flow passages radially overlap adjacent ends of the inner flow passages whereby two concentric sleeves of material are produced which are radially compressed together in forming the final tubular extrudate to eliminate uneven gauge and trapped air caused by the flow of material around spider legs prior to passing through the extrusion orifice.
