    • Embodiments of the invention are directed to apparatus, methods, and computer program products for allowing a user to make a payment at a payment terminal via a mobile device regardless of whether a power source in a mobile device is present or active. An active module of a mobile device enables a user to make a contactless payment via a mobile device when a power source in a mobile device is present and active. A passive module of a mobile device enables a user to make a contactless payment via a mobile device when a power source in a mobile device is either not present or not active. The passive module is configured to receive power from an electromagnetic field generated by a payment terminal. The mobile device is configured to manage the active and passive payment technologies by automatically activating the passive payment technology when a power source in the mobile device is not present or active.

    • Embodiments of the invention include apparatuses, methods, and computer-program products that provide for a unique financial transaction security system. In one embodiment, the financial transaction security system receives a security protocol from a user. The security protocol includes instructions for allowing transactions without authentication and security features for the user if authentication is necessary. The system then determines that the user is conducting a transaction, compares the transaction to the instructions, and determines whether the transaction can occur without authentication. If the user is required to authenticate his identity, the system requests input from the user, compares the input to the security feature, and determines if the user is authenticated. The user is able to customize both the instructions and the security features to provide greater control over financial transaction security.

    • In general terms, embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and apparatuses for initiating pending ATM authentications on a mobile device and for completing those pending ATM authentications at an ATM. For example, in some embodiments, a method is provided that includes: (a) initiating a pending ATM authentication on a mobile device, where the initiating the pending ATM authentication is based at least partially on a user of the mobile device inputting one or more inputs into the mobile device, and where the initiating the pending ATM authentication occurs before the user arrives at an ATM for completing the pending ATM authentication; (b) storing, on the mobile device, authentication information associated with the pending ATM authentication; (c) transferring the authentication information from the mobile device directly to the ATM, where the transferring the authentication information occurs after the user arrives at the ATM for completing the pending ATM authentication; (d) receiving, at the ATM, the authentication information associated with the pending ATM authentication; and (e) completing, at the ATM, the pending ATM authentication based at least partially on the authentication information.

    • Embodiments of the invention include apparatuses and methods that allow a user to wirelessly transmit payment information from a mobile device to a point-of-sale terminal by the user performing only a single action or supplying only a single input to the mobile device. For example, some embodiments of the invention allow a user to assign a default payment vehicle to a particular key or “pay now” icon of the mobile device so that activation of the particular key or icon, alone, causes the mobile device to wirelessly transmit information about the default payment vehicle. In some embodiments of the invention, a user using the single action option of the mobile device does not need to go through an authentication procedure before the mobile device transmits the default payment information. In some embodiments of the invention, if a user uses the single action option, the mobile device is configured to transmit the payment information without needing to first launch an electronic wallet software application installed on the device.
