    • A cam-action expanding standoff connector and related method are disclosed for mounting a circuit board. The standoff connector includes a body and a plurality of mounting members having interior longitudinally-extending camming portions for engagement by a cam. A cam is configured to be positioned within the mounting members in a first position in which the mounting members are not expanded against the interior of a mounting opening and in a second position in which the cam engages the camming portions to expand the plurality of mounting members against the interior of the mounting opening. Since the camming action is horizontal only (purely radial), practically no vertical forces are applied to the circuit board and a best-fit alignment between a circuit board and heatsink can be established and maintained.

    • A gangway system for providing access, particularly for handicapped persons, between structures having surfaces which are relatively movable with respect to each other over a range of motion. The gangway includes a plurality of alternating ramp and platform members hingedly coupled to one another, the ends of the gangway being in contact with the surfaces of the structures. The platform members are supported by support members fixed in position relative to one of the structures and, over the range of motion, as the surfaces move vertically relative to one another the ramps and platforms come to rest in sequence adjacent the surface of the other structure. The lengths of the ramps are selected to be less than a preselected value and their slopes are selected so as not to exceed a preselected value during use so that handicapped access is facilitated.

    • A portable hard rock crusher unit especially useful for low clearance underground mines. Material to be crushed is horizontally fed to the rotary crusher jaws. A curved convergent material flow-path is employed between two crusher jaws. The outer member of the crusher is a substantially stationary outer curved concave jaw and its inner jaw member is a cylindrical element mounted to give eccentric motion on a shaft. The inner member may freely rotate on its eccentric or it may also be rotatably driven. Material fed between the inner and outer jaw members of the crusher encounters a progressively narrower opening as it is crushed and moved by the peristaltic pumping action caused by the eccentric motion of the movable inner crusher element acting against the outer stationary jaw.
