    • Electronic display devices and methods are described. In one embodiment, a display device comprises a housing and a display area provided within the housing to display content for a user. Memory is provided within the housing to hold data that is to be rendered into user-viewable content. An electrophotographic assembly is provided within the housing and is configured to electrophotographically render user-viewable content from the data that is held in the memory. A loop of material is disposed proximate the electrophotographic assembly and is configured to receive electrophotographically rendered content and present the content for user viewing within the display area. A control area is provided on the housing and includes one or more user-engagable structures to permit a user to interact with the device. The control area is positioned on the housing to accommodate one-handed use of the device. In one embodiment, the control area is provided on a sidewall that extends between front and back faces of the housing. The user-engagable structures can comprise any suitable user engagable structure, with an exemplary structure comprising a rocker-type switch which accommodates one-handed use of the display reader.

    • A DVD device comprises a non-volatile memory and a processing system. The non-volatile memory stores a first configuration. The processing system processes a signal from a DVD, and if a reconfiguration code is stored on the DVD, then the processing system detects the reconfiguration code in the signal. If the reconfiguration code is not detected, then the processing system operates based on the first configuration. If the reconfiguration code is detected, then the processing system processes reconfiguration instructions from the signal. The processing system transfers a second configuration to the non-volatile memory based on the reconfiguration instructions. The non-volatile memory stores the second configuration. The processing system operates based on the second configuration in response to the second configuration being stored in the non-volatile memory.

    • Methods and systems for increasing the likelihood of print job completion are described. In one embodiment, an automated method is described in which a print job is initiated at a first of multiple printing devices that are communicatively linked with one another. The printing devices can be the same type or different types of printing devices. Using the first printing device, the print job is monitored for completion. In the event that the print job is unable to be completed at the first printing device, the printing device automatically attempts to re-route at least a portion of the print job to one or more of the multiple printing devices. In this manner, completion of the print job can be assured with a greater degree of likelihood. Additionally, user messages can be generated by one or more of the printing devices that notify a user that initiated a print job as to the location of the various printed portions of the print job.
