    • Durable non-electrically conductive metal treatments (such as coatings or finishes) for yarns and textile fabrics. Such treatments preferably comprise silver and/or silver ions; however, other metals, such as zinc, iron, copper, nickel, cobalt, aluminum, gold, manganese, magnesium, and the like, may also be present or alternatively utilized. Such a treatment provides, as one example, an antimicrobial fiber and/or textile fabric which remains on the surface and does not permit electrical conductivity over the surface. The treatment is extremely durable on such substrates; after a substantial number of standard launderings and dryings, the treatment does not wear away in any appreciable amount and thus the substrate retains its antimicrobial activity (or other property). The method of adherence to the target yarn and/or fabric may be performed any number of ways, most preferably through the utilization of a binder system or through a transfer method from a donor fabric to a target textile fabric in the presence of moisture and upon exposure to heat. The particular methods of adherence, as well as the treated textile fabrics and individual fibers are also encompassed within this invention.

    • A method includes wetting fibers with a resin capable of being cured by at least two different cure treatments. At least partially curing the resin by subjecting the resin to a first cure treatment and at least partially curing the resin by subjecting the resin to a second cure treatment. A plurality of fibers are located adjacent each other so that a plurality of valleys are formed between the plurality of fibers along an outer side of the reinforcement. The resin is cured to retain the valleys in the outer side of the reinforcement. The outer side of the reinforcement is adhered to the structural member. An apparatus including a fiber locating mechanism adapted to retain the peaks and valleys during curing of the resin without rigidly confining the outer side of the reinforcement.

    • A system and method for preventing propagation of malicious content associated with an electronic message are disclosed. An electronic message and content associated with the electronic message is simulated in a virtual machine which emulates the destination computing device of the electronic message. A virtual firewall receives one or more commands as the electronic message or content associated with an electronic message is executed. Initially, the virtual firewall establishes a network connection and determines the type of action associated with the commands. If the type of action comprises a connection maintenance or configuration command, the network connection is maintained. If the type of action comprises a data transmission command, the network connection is terminated. This allows the virtual machine to simulate performance of a networked computer by transmitting a subset of the data through a network connection.
