摘要： Various devices and methods are provided for personalizing an appearance of a consumer product (14, 54, 64, 84, 94, 1800). In one embodiment, a device for personalizing an appearance of a consumer product comprises a design element (13, 53, 63, 73, 83, 93, 103, 113, 123, 1804) having a substrate (1930) having a first image (1914) applied on a first side of the substrate; and a connector (11, 51, 61, 81, 91, 121, 131, 1802) in contact with the design element, wherein the connector has an opening and is configured to be removably connected to the consumer product, wherein at least a portion of the first image is directly visible to a user via the opening.

In some embodiments, the management system and method is described in order to manufacturing customized products according to image and customization data with images applied to parts using a post mold image application process. In other embodiments, customized products are defined by electronic orders that specify product manufacturing data including imagery to be applied to the products. In other embodiments, manufacturing methods are described in which an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or an original design manufacturer (ODM) leverages use of an on demand customizing entity in the manufacturing supply chain. In other embodiments, customized products are described in which imagery spans across multiple components of the products. In other embodiments, re-usable tracking devices and scheduling processes based on filtered options are additionally described. Some embodiments combine one of more of these mentioned embodiments.

摘要： In accordance with the teachings described herein, systems and methods are provided for implementing a dual-mode keypad for a mobile device. The keypad may operate in a telephony mode and a text-entry mode. The keypad may include a plurality of dual-mode keys that each include an associated telephony character and at least one associated text-entry character. The dual-mode keys may include one or more toggle keys, with each toggle key having a plurality of associated text-entry characters and one associated telephony character. The dual-mode keys may be partially covered by the keypad surface so that a plurality of key surfaces extend from the key and protrude through the keypad surface. In text-entry mode, the dual-mode keys are operable to input text-entry characters. In telephony mode, the dual-mode keys are operable to input telephony characters.

摘要： A keypad for a mobile device having a housing comprises a plurality of keys coupled to the housing. Each of the keys has means for making the selection of smaller key sizes easier for a user. The keys may incorporate a flexible or resilient upper part, or be configured to transform to a larger surface area upon the application of pressure. The keys may be configured to rotate away from a selected key. The keys adjacent a selected key may be configured to lock mechanically or electrically. The keys may have multiple parts that are movable relative to one another. The upper part of the key may include a fluid, with a selection rod positioned inside the upper part to enter the fluid.
