    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste composition preventing warpage or cracks from occurring even if using a thinner silicon semiconductor substrate and achieving high BSF effect and energy conversion efficiency, and also to provide a solar cell element having an electrode formed by using the composition. SOLUTION: The paste composition is used for forming an aluminum electrode on a p-type silicon semiconductor substrate, and contains aluminum powder, an organic vehicle, and carbon powder. The solar cell element has an aluminum electrode layer 8 formed by applying the paste composition having the above feature onto the p-type silicon semiconductor substrate 1 for burning.
