      SOLUTION: On a process of drying a coating film of the coating composition for the activator layer formed on a current collector of an electrode plate intermediate, provided that a period in which a residual volume of a solvent during the coating is 100% by mass to 24.4% by mass is an initial drying stage, that in which the residual volume is 24.4% by mass to 2.2% by mass is a middle drying stage, and that in which the residual volume is less than 2.2% by mass is a latter drying stage, an ambient atmosphere temperature in a drying environment in which the electrode plate intermediate product is to be placed is in a range of 70 to 150°C, and a wind velocity of a blowing means at a discharging outlet for discharging air stream in the drying environment is within a range of 1.5 to 18.0.

      SOLUTION: As to an electrode plate roll 2 having metal core 31 which has a length sufficiently longer than the width of a tape roll item of an electrode plate tape, or the like, a pair of cushioning members are made contact with both side faces of the roll 2 to be covered with a cylindrical packaging material 19 which is a cylindrically formed bag sufficiently bigger than the width of the roll 2 and contains a metal layer or a metal oxide layer. The excess part of the material 19 is made to fit along the side face of the roll 2, or a sleeve part 39 is formed by heat sealing so that the metal core 31 go through. The formed sleeve part 39 seals the excessive metal core part with a sealing tape 41 containing metal for sealing airtight by either one of dry air packaging, vacuum packaging or inert gas flush packaging and/or desiccant enclosing packaging.
