    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for a display device which has two functions, an optical function of raising contrast of video and an electromagnetic wave shielding function, which can be manufactured at a low cost and has high transmittance, and to provide its manufacturing method.
      SOLUTION: The filter for the display device 10 is installed in front of a PDP (plasma display panel) 30. The filter for the display device 10 is equipped with: a first transparent base material 11a; a second transparent base material 11b which is stuck on the first transparent base material 11a across a near IR beam/neon beam cutting adhesive 11c; an electromagnetic wave shielding layer 12 provided to the first transparent base material 11a; and an optical functional layer 20 provided to the second transparent base material 11b. The electromagnetic wave shielding layer 12 has electric conductivity and intercepts electromagnetic waves from the PDP 30. Further the optical functional layer 20 comprises a transparent resin part 21 and a blackened resin part 22 embedded in the transparent resin part 21 and absorbs outdoor daylight to raise contrast of video from the PDP. The near IR beam/neon beam cutting adhesive 11c has a near IR beam cutting function and a neon beam cutting function.
