摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersant which can remarkably improve fluidity of a pigment-containing ink or paint or the like, can prevent particle aggregation of pigments, and enables manufacture of a colored article showing excellent glossiness and brightness, while preventing occurrence of foreign matter.SOLUTION: The pigment dispersant is a compound represented by general formula (1), wherein X is a hydrogen atom or an anthraquinonyl group; Y is a phthalimidomethyl group; Rand Rare each the reactive residue of a predetermined amine compound; a is an integer of 1-3; and b is an integer of 1-2. By using the pigment dispersant, a pigment colorant, e.g., for image display, for image recording, for a printing ink, for a writing ink, for plastic, for pigment print or for paint can be prepared.

Use of the pigment dispersant allows preparation of pigment colorants for image display, image recording, printing inks, writing inks, plastics, pigment printing and coatings.
