    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid wire for carbon dioxide welding, which has a Cu plating layer with a thickness of ≥1 μm on the surface of a base material wire except for stainless steel wire in order to secure conductivity.
      SOLUTION: A base material wire 2 comprises 0.3-0.6 wt.% C, 1.0-2.0 wt.% Si, ≤0.60 wt.% Mn, ≤0.60 wt.% Ni, 7.5-9.5 wt.% Cr, ≤0.4 wt.% Mo, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. A solid wire 1 for carbon dioxide welding is made by coating the surface of the base material wire 2 with a Cu plating layer 6 having a thickness of #8805;1.0 μm via a Ni plating layer 4 having a thickness of 0.3-1.4 μm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar and wire grinding device in which grinding of the bar and wire with always constant grinding amount without troublesome adjusting operation even when a grinding tool is worn, and position adjusting operation of the grinding tool is eliminated even upon switching to a bar or wire different in diameter, and handling is easy. SOLUTION: This grinding device comprises: a fixed member 10 fixed to a frame 3 and having a center hole to which the bar or wire (wire W) penetrates; a rotary board 5 rotatably supported to the frame 3 with an axial line of the bar or wire as a rotating center and rotated driven by a rotation driving machine; a plurality of rocking arms 30, 30 whose middle parts are rotatably supported respectively by support shafts 31 parallel to the axial line of the bar or wire provided to the rotary board 5, an whose one end is provided with a plurality of grinding wheels 4A, 4B; and pressure means (air cylinders 35) each of which is mounted between the other end of each of the rocking arms 30 and the rotary disc 5 for urging each of the rocking arm 30 in the direction which brings the grinding wheels into pressure contact with an outer peripheral surface of the bar and wire.
