摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a gas generator with a casing having an end part on the open end side in which a cut filter element can be inserted without requiring deformation machining or other machining previously. CONSTITUTION: A casing 10 is extruded of aluminum or aluminum alloy as a hollow extrusion molding having integrally molded holding sections 40, 42 facing each other in order to hold filter elements 36, 38. The filter elements 36, 38 can insert between the holding sections through one of the opposite ends on the open end face side of the extrusion molding and the metal mesh of the filter element extends linearly between the holding sections 40, 42.

CONSTITUTION: A gas generator 10 is provided with two pipes 12, 16 coaxial to each other and of different diameter, and an intermediate ring chamber is formed therebetween. The inner pipe 16 is filled with a gas generating material, and the gas flows out into both pipes through an opening part. An ignition device 26 is projected in an intermediate part of the gas generating material inside the inner pipe, and the device is extended through cylindrical wall parts of both pipes. The ignition device is held by a ring-shaped or tubular holding body 30, and the holding body is remarkably shorter than both pipes, and filled in the intermediate chamber between both pipes. Peripheral wall opening parts 50, 52 to be matched with each other are provided in both pipes, and one holding body has a receiving through slot 32, and the ignition device is screwed in the slot, and surely held thereby.

A rolled-up overlapping damming strip 2 is provided between a gas-generating agent as the pellets and the inner tube 16. The damming strip is a steel strip that can be avoided a welding process or a bonding process for damming, and which can be obtained opening gas pressure that is constant at all temperature.

摘要： PURPOSE: To prevent a closure cover of an outer pipe from being detached in a tubular gas generator for airbag. CONSTITUTION: A gas generator 10 is provided with an outer pipe 12 and an inner pipe 16 coaxial thereto. A pressurized gas generating charge to be ignited by an ignition device is mounted in the inner pipe. As for an end face part of the gas generator, an end part 32 of the outer pipe is sealed by a closure cover 28 in an airtight manner. A notch 38 to receive and hold the end part of the inner pipe is formed inside the closure cover. The cover is provided with a circumferential groove 46, an inner projection part 44 formed inward by the multiple notching by means of a notching tool 47 is engaged with the inside of the cover, and the projection part is arranged on an inner circumferentail surface of the outer pipe in the end sections thereof.
