摘要： The invention relates to an hydrophilic membrane comprising a membrane carrier and a hydrophilic coating with good properties. The coating may comprise covalently bound inorganic-organic hybrid material; or the coating may comprise ring-opening polymerized components like epoxy resins. The coating composition preferably is applied in a solvent, the solvent is evaporated, and the coating is cured with UV radiation. The hydrophilic membrane is very useful in water purification, and in other applications.

摘要： The invention concerns an improved process for producing high performance polyolefin member. The process comprises the steps of preparing a solution comprising a polyolefin and a solvent, extruding or spinning the solution into an air gap to form a fluid member, cooling the fluid member to form a solvent-containing gel member, and removing at least partly the solvent from the gel member to form a solid member before, during and/or after drawing the member. Furthermore, the process involves the presence of an antifoaming agent comprising an aryl sulphonic acid or an alkyl naphtyl sulphonic acid. The invention further concerns the geltruded polyolefin member comprising aryl sulphonic acid or alkyl naphtyl sulphonic acid.

摘要： The invention relates to a process to separate a compound selected from levulinic acid or esters thereof, 2,5(hydroxymethyl)furfuraldehyde, methoxymethylfurfuraldehyde, furfuraldehyde, formic acid, acetic acid, angelica lactone, and valerolactone from a composition obtained from a process to convert carbohydrates to said compound by acid hydrolysis, said process comprising subjecting said composition to membrane separation in the presence of an organic solvent using a nanofiltration membrane, to yield a retentate and a permeate, and recovering the permeate comprising the compound. Said process is very suitable for the separation of bio-based products such a levulinic acid, 2,5(hydroxymethyl)furfuraldehyde, lkoxymethylfurfuraldehydes such as methoxymethylfurfuraldehyde and ethoxymethylfurfuraldehyde, furfural, organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid, and valerolactone, from tar or humins.

摘要： The invention relates to continuous process for the production of a valuable compound from a lignocellulosic biomass, said process comprising: subjecting a slurried lignocellulosic biomass to an acid hydrolysis reaction in a reactor having an inlet and an outlet, in the presence of a mineral acid and under conditions of temperature, time, and acid concentration to yield a biomass hydrolysate comprising a valuable compound; subjecting said biomass hydrolysate to a solvent-extraction to yield an organic phase comprising the valuable compound, and an aqueous phase comprising at least part of the mineral acid and separating said phases resulting in an organic stream and an aqueous stream, optionally concentrating said aqueous stream; recycling the optionally concentrated aqueous stream to the acid hydrolysis reaction; and optionally isolating the valuable compound. The process may result in reduced consumption of mineral acid and may give efficient, stable, and robust process.

摘要： The invention provides a process to separate levulinic acid from a composition obtained by acid hydrolysis of biomass said process comprising subjecting said composition to solvent-solvent extraction to yield an organic phase comprising levulinic acid, and an aqueous phase; subjecting said organic phase to nanofiltration to yield a permeate comprising levulinic acid and a retentate; and recovering said permeate. The process is very suitable to remove any colour and humins (soluble tar), which would otherwise form a problem in subsequent process steps, particularly in distillation. Consequently, the process is simpler and results in higher yields of levulinic acid.
