摘要： Present invention relates to an orthopedic implant having a bone anchoring part comprising a polymer composition comprising a biostable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and 15-70 mass% of inorganic particles comprising zirconia. It was found that this relatively rigid anchoring part allows inserting an implant into a pre-drilled bone hole to form a firm and durable connection to bone, which may be visualized with for example X-ray or MRI methods. The thermoplastic polyurethane composition shows favorable properties, and offers freedom in design and dimensioning of the implant, and in making the implant with common techniques like injection molding. Especially if the implant comprises a cartilage replacing part made from a resilient thermoplastic material compatible with the polyurethane-zirconia composition, like a more flexible TPU composition, the implant may be made with a 2-component injection molding technique. In other aspects, the invention relates to a method of making said orthopedic implant comprising a bone anchoring part with a multi-component injection molding process. The invention further relates to a surgical kit of parts comprising orthopedic implants of the invention, and to the use of an implant or a surgical kit of the invention in orthopedic surgery.

摘要： The invention concerns a polymer composition for making a bone anchoring part of an orthopedic implant for use in repair of damaged cartilage tissue, comprising a biostable thermoplastic polyurethane and 15-70 mass% of micron-sized inorganic particles comprising a biocompatible transition metal compound. It was found that the relatively rigid TPU composition comprising said inorganic particles allows making an anchoring part that can be inserted or press-fitted into a pre-drilled bone hole to form a firm and durable connection to bone tissue, and which may be visualized with for example X-ray or MRI methods. The polymer composition shows favorable properties and enables freedom in designing and making the implant with common techniques like injection molding. In other aspects, the invention relates to methods of making said polymer composition, and to using the polymer composition in making an orthopedic implant comprising a bone anchoring part, like in forming the implant with a multi-component injection molding process comprising a step of molding the bone anchoring part from the polymer composition.

摘要： The invention relates to a flame retardant composition comprising a melamine component chosen from the group consisting of melamine, condensation products of melamine, and mixtures thereof, characterized in that the melamine component has been contacted with an alkaline solution of a metal oxide in which the metal is chosen from the group consisting of silicium, zirconium and titanium. This flame retardant composition shows less sublimation during preparation by compounding of flame retarded polymer compositions, thereby giving less pollution of the compounding room compared to a melamine component as such. A further advantage of the flame retardant composition according to the invention is easier dosing and better dispersing during compounding. Injection molding of flame retarded polymer compositions comprising the flame retardant according to the invention, where applicable, results in a reduced tendency to form mold deposits, thereby reducing the number of molded parts with surface defects and reducing the process hold-up time needed for cleaning. The invention also relates to a process for preparing a flame retardant composition according to the invention, a polymer composition comprising such a flame retardant composition, a process for preparing the same, a molded part and an assembled article prepared from a polymer composition comprising a flame retardant composition according to the invention.

摘要： The invention relates to an information-carrying moulded part containing one or more plastic layers, at least one of which bears an informative representation. A "moulded part" is understood to be in particular a card such as "smart cards", key cards, identification cards, telephone cards, credit cards or bank cards. According to the invention at least one of the plastic layers herein is made from a block-copolyester consisting of soft blocks of a flexible polymer and hard polyester blocks of repeating units of at least one alkylene glycol and at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid or an ester thereof. The block-copolyether layer can very well be provided with an informative representation with the aid of laser writing and for example sublimation printing. The information-carrying moulded part according to the invention also has a good stiffness combined with a good flexibility and a good resistance to breaking and tearing, good adhesion to for example polycarbonate. PVC-free cards can be made which do not threaten the environment.
