    • A calibratable apparatus for determining the volume of fuel being dispensed from a pump fuel unit comprises a pulse generator (2), which is adapted to generate pulses corresponding to the volume flow rate when dispensing fuel, and means (3) for correcting the number of pulses generated by the pulse generator by at least one correction factor, such that the correction means emit substantially a predetermined number of pulses per unit of volume of the fuel that is being dispensed. In a method for calibrating this apparatus, a signal is supplied to the apparatus that calibration is to be carried out, and the pump fuel unit is caused to dispense a calibration volume of a plurality of predetermined calibration volumes. The rest of the calibration is processed automatically by the correction means, which both identify the calibration volume and determine the correction factor.

    • An apparatus for volume determination in a fuel pump unit comprises a first and a second metering means (1, 2) which are juxtaposed. The metering means (1, 2) each comprises a metering casing (11, 12) having a shaft assembly, which is adapted to be rotated when fuel flows through the metering casing. Each metering means further comprises a pulse generating means, which has a frequency generator and a pulse generator (43, 44) and which is adapted to convert the rotation of the shaft assembly into pulses. The frequency generator is connected to the shaft assembly for rotation therewith, mounted in the respective metering casings (11, 12). The two pulse generators are adapted to sense, in a contactless manner, rotation of the respective frequency generators and to emit pulses in relation thereto. The two pulse generators (43, 44) are arranged in a separate pulse generator module (3) and are encompassed in a pulse generator casing (13), which is detachably connected to the metering casing (11, 12). The invention also concerns a separate pulse generator module (3).

    • In a method for determining the volume of fuel being dispensed from a fuel pump unit, a correction of the number of pulses generated by a pulse generator corresponding to the volume flow rate when dispensing fuel is carried out. The purpose of the correction is to produce a predetermined number of pulses per unit of volume of fuel. The correction comprises skipping every Nth generated pulse or adding a pulse in addition to the pulses generated for every Nth generated pulse. This correction, which can be made continuously during volume determination and which does not require any multiplications, is preferably realised by a processor unit and its associated software in an apparatus for volume determination. A method for carrying out calibration for determining N is also disclosed.

    • A slide valve has a cylindrical valve housing (1) with at least one opening (2) and a turnable slide (3, 5) for closing and uncovering the opening (2). The valve slide, whose sealing surface is congruent with the valve housing, comprises a body (3) and a sleeve (5) made of a yieldable material and movably arranged on the outside of the body. The outside of the sleeve is made of a material with good sealing properties. The friction between the sleeve (5) and the valve housing (1) is normally higher than the friction between the body (3) and the sleeve (5), such that, as the slide (3) is turned, the body slides inside the sleeve (5) and the sleeve (5) rolls on the inside of the valve housing (1). In this valve, a good sealing is obtained without necessitating great force for operating the slide (3) and without the outside of the sleeve being improperly worn. The principle may also be applied to other valve configurations than a cylindrical valve housing and a turnable slide.
