摘要： Phosphorus-sulfur compounds have flame retardant activity in organic polymer systems. The phosphorus-sulfur compounds can be represented by the structure: (F) wherein X is oxygen or sulfur, T is a covalent bond, oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen, provided that at least one of X and T is sulfur, each X' is independently oxygen or sulfur, each m is independently zero or 1 when X' is oxygen and zero, 1 or 2 when X' is sulfur, n is at least 1 and preferably at least 2, each R is independently an unsubstituted or inertly substituted hydrocarbyl group or the R groups together form an unsubstituted or inertly substituted divalent organic group and A is an organic linking group.

摘要： Extruded polymer foams are prepared using 5,5-bis(bromomethyl)-2-oxo-l,3,2- dioxaphosphorinane or brominated 2-oxo-l,3,2-dioxaphosphorinane compounds. The brominated FR additives unexpectedly are stable at the extrusion temperatures, and provide excellent flame retardancy to the foams.

摘要： Expanded styrenic polymers contain 1 to 20% by weight of one or more aromatic polyphosphonate compounds corresponding to the following structure I :wherein a and b are each from 0 to 6, with a + b being from 2 to 6, each R is independently hydrogen, unsubstituted or inertly substituted alkyl having up to 6 carbon atoms, -NO 2 , -NR 1 2 ,- C≡N, -OR 1 , -C(O)OR 1 , or -C(O)NR 1 2 (wherein R 1 is hydrocarbyl or hydrogen), each R 2 is independently hydrogen, alkyl or inertly substituted alkyl, each R 3 is a covalent bond or a divalent linking group, and each R 4 is independently an alkyl, aryl, inertly substituted alkyl or inertly substituted aryl group. The aromatic polyphosphonate compounds are effective FR additives for the expanded polymers.

摘要： A battery electrolyte solution contains from 0.01 to 80% by weight of an aromatic phosphorus compound. The aromatic phosphorus compound provides increased thermal stability for the electrolyte, helping to reduce thermal degradation, thermal runaway reactions and the possibility of burning. The aromatic phosphorus compound has little adverse impact on the electrical properties of the battery, and in some cases actually improves battery performance.

摘要： The present invention relates to flame resistance additives for organic polymers, and in particular polyphosphonate-type flame resistance additives in a polycarbonate or a polyester carbonate and/or in blends of polycarbonate or a polyester carbonate with an acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene terpolymer. The aromatic polyphosphonate compounds of the present invention are represented by the structure, wherein a and b are each from 0 to 6, with a + b being from 2 to 6, each R is independently hydrogen, unsubstituted or inertly substituted alkyl having up to 6 carbon atoms, -NO 2 , -NR 1 2 ,- C≡N, -OR 1 , -C(O)OR 1 , or -C(O)NR 1 2 (wherein R 1 is hydrocarbyl or hydrogen), each R2 is independently hydrogen, alkyl or inertly substituted alkyl, each R 3 is a covalent bond or a divalent linking group, and each R 4 is independently an alkyl, aryl, inertly substituted alkyl or inertly substituted aryl group.

摘要： A battery electrolyte solution contains from 0.001 to 20% by weight of certain phosphorus -sulfur compounds. The phosphorus -sulfur compound performs effectively as a solid- electrolyte interphase (SEI) forming material. The phosphorus-sulfur compound has little adverse impact on the electrical properties of the battery, and in some cases actually improves battery performance. Batteries containing the electrolyte solution form robust and stable SEIs even when charged at high rates during initial formation cycles.

摘要： Random or block co-or terpolymers produced by using metal complex catalysts in a reaction of one conjugated diene monomer with one aromatic Random or block co-or terpolymers produced by using metomers with one aromatic α-olefin or terpolymers of one conjugated diene monomer with one aromatic α-olefin and one aliphatic α-olefin by using metal complexes comprising metals of group 3 to 10 of the Periodic System of the Elements in combination with activators and optionally a support material. More particularly the metal complexes used for the synthesis of co-or terpolymers are lanthanide metals. Even more particularly diene monomer(s) and aromatic α-olefin monomer(s) such as, but not limited to, butadiene and styrene or isoprene and styrene are copolymerized giving random or block copolymers or butadiene, styrene and isoprene are terpolymerized giving random or block terpolymers using metal complexes comprising lanthanide metals in combination with activators and optionally a support material. Preferably random co-or terpolymers are formed.
