摘要： Filter media is described that includes a filtration substrate having a first side and a second side, and constructed for filtering a fluid by flow of the fluid therethrough from the first side to the second side or from the second side to the first side. The filtration substrate has a first edge and a second edge, and a first end and a second end, wherein the filtration substrate has a machine direction extending from the first end to the second end, and a cross direction extending from the first side to the second side. The filtration substrate includes a plurality of corrugations located in the cross direction and extending in the machine direction. The plurality of corrugations include a plurality of first crests formed along the first side of the filtration substrate and a plurality of second crests formed along the second side of the filtration substrate. The filtration substrate includes a plurality of bosses located along the plurality of first crests or along the plurality of second crests and extending in a direction away from the other of the plurality of first crests or the plurality of second crests. Media packs, filter elements, and methods of making are provided.

摘要： An air cleaner construction including a precleaner arrangement, a filter assembly and a scavenger arrangement is provided. In the precleaner arrangement, air directed into the air cleaner assembly is subjected to some particulate removal. The air from the precleaner arrangement is then directed into the filter assembly, for further particulate material. The scavenger arrangement is constructed and arranged to scavenge separated particulate material from both the precleaner arrangement and the filter assembly. A pulse jet cleaner assembly is provided to facilitate removal of particulate material from the filter assembly.

摘要： A conical filter device inserts into a duct having flow passing from upstream to downstream. The filter device includes fluted filter media (62) having flutes formed therein and a housing (54). The filter forms a seal (59) between the outer edge of the filter at the downstream side and the housing. The upstream face of the filter is conical-shaped in a first embodiment and frusto-conical in a second embodiment with the housing roughly corresponding to the shape of the filter. The filter elements (62) are formed by winding layers of filter media to form a circular cross-section. The elements are moved axially as they are wound or placed on a shaping form while the sealant is still piable to shape the element.

摘要： Fluted filter media includes filter material (100) having a plurality of flutes formed therein having alternating ends of adjacent flutes closed (120) to force fluid through filter material. A first embodiment of the filter media includes tapered flutes which have the open ends (122) of the flutes larger in cross-section than the closed flutes (120), wherein the upstream open flutes converge toward the downstream end and the upstream closed end flutes diverge toward the downstream end. A third embodiment includes filer media with an upstream edge crushed to improve flow at the upstream edge. A fourth embodiment includes filter media with the upstream sealing material recessed from the upstream edge for reducing effects from blockages at the upstream edge of the filter.

摘要： The present invention relates to a filter including a filter element having a succession of inner connected pleats. The pleats have successive pleat tips which define an outer boundary of the filter element. Covering the entire outer boundary of the filter element is a permeable generally inelastic sheet which extends across successive pleat tips. The sheet is adhesively affixed to the pleat tips for maintaining spacing of the pleats. The sheet comprises a plurality of randomly arranged plastic filaments which are bonded to each other junction between the filaments and define a plurality of randomly spaced and shaped openings for allowing substantially unrestricted flow of a fluid through the sheet.

摘要： Approaches to providing z-filter media constructions are provided. Preferred corrugated media, filter constructions having such corrugated media, and filter systems using such filter constructions are provided. Also, preferred methods of forming filter constructions are provided. In general, then, methods of preparing a z-filter media construction including coiled z-filter media are provided including steps according to the process of Figs.11 and 21. The typical process comprises using z-filter media comprising a fluted, and preferably corrugated, sheet secured to a non-fluted non-corrugated facing sheet. The method generally includes steps of: (a) guiding a front end extension of a strip of z-filter media into a media catch slot of a winding hub; (b) in follow up, coiling the strip of media around the outside of the winding hub, with the facing sheet directed outwardly, to form a resulting media coil; and (c) removing the resulting media coil from the winding hub. Preferably the winding is conducted using a strip that has both a front side sealant strip and a backside sealant strip, most preferably at least the backside sealant strip is foamed polyurethane.
