    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase efficiency for removal of metal ions without relying on a granular metal ion removing material such as a chelate resin, in a metal ion removing device 1.SOLUTION: A metal ion removing device 1 extracts metal ions included in fuel to a water layer 14 by dispersedly supplying COas acidic gas and fuel to a water layer 14. Accordingly, by using, as a metal ion removing material, acidic aqueous solution obtained by dissolving COinto water, dispersibility of the metal ion removing material to the fuel is increased more than a granular metal ion removing material. Accordingly, the efficiency for removal of the metal ions can be increased without relying on the granular metal ion removing material.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas sensor element capable of detecting the accurate concentration of NOx without being affected by the concentration of oxygen in gas to be measured. SOLUTION: An electrode 2a is provided in a first internal space and an electrode 2b controls the applied voltage of an oxygen pump cell 2 facing to a space where the gas to be measured is present while an electrode 3a is provided in a second internal space and an electrode 3b controls the current value of an oxygen monitor cell 3 facing to a reference gas space so as to make the same constant. When a sensor cell 4, wherein an electrode 4a having sensitivity to specific gas is provided in the second internal space and an electrode 4b faces to the reference gas space, is arranged at a position equal to that of the oxygen monitor cell 3 with respect to the gas flow in the internal space so as to become almost symmetric, the concentration of oxygen in the vicinity of the sensor cell 4 becomes equal to that in the vicinity of the oxygen monitor cell 3 and detection accuracy is enhanced.
