摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a discharge nozzle for continuous casting which is capable of discharging a slab at an extremely high velocity of flow for production and is used on conjunction with a crystallization apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The discharge nozzle 10 has an approximately vertical discharge pipe 11 which is closed at its lower end and includes lateral discharge holes 14 facing toward the narrow sides of the mold and cooperating with means 13 that distribute and deflect the flow of liquid metal. The pipe consists of a first segment 11a having a downwardly converting circular cross-section and a second downwardly diverging segment 11b with a cross-section which can be varied progressively from circular to rectangular. The distribution and deflection means consist of two distribution chambers 15, one per each lateral discharge hole. The distribution chambers are open at their upper 16a and lower 16b portions and consist of a side wall which, at the opposite ends of the lateral discharge hole, is conformed as a downwardly diverging deflector 18 forming an angle α with the vertical between 10 deg. and 35 deg..

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a method for continuous casting of thin slabs of high- carbon steels having a specific carbon content. CONSTITUTION: This method is for the continuos casting of the high-carbon steels having the carbon content greater than 0.50% in order to produce the thin slabs. In this method, the taper of the mold at least in its first segment is required to be between 1.5% and 4% per meter and the frequency of oscillation of the mold to be between 180 and 350 oscillations per minute with a travel upward and downward between ±5 mm and 5 mm, with a total travel of 10 to 18 mm. The cooling in an initial cooling period is extremely intense and the time in the transient state at the time of start-up of the casting is reduced by 1/3 to 1/4 as compared to the normal times of the transient stage of start-up.

摘要： PURPOSE: To continuously cast thin slabs capable of decreasing the ruggedness, dents and flaws on the surfaces of peritectic steels having a specific carbon content. CONSTITUTION: In the continuous casting of the peritectic steels having the carbon content between 0.10% and 0.15% and at times even between 0.09% and 0.16%, this method makes it necessary that the taper of the mold at least in its first segment be between 2.0% and 6% per meter and the frequency of oscillation of the mold be between 300 and 500 oscillations per minute with a travel upward and downward between ±2.5 mm and 4 mm, with a total travel of 5 to 8 mm and the primary and secondary cooling is restricted.
