摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture an axle housing at low cost by integrally forming with a press a main body part and tube end part by dividing them in the upper and lower parts and integrally forming them with a mast support fitting groove subjected to machining after joining them by welding. CONSTITUTION:The axle housing main body part 1 consisting of a def-housing 1A and the axle case part 1B extending in the right and left directions thereof and each part of the tube end part 1C provided in series at the right and left both end parts thereof are subjected to cold integral forming by a press as a pair of the upper and lower two splits formed by dividing in two-piece shape along the longitudinal direction. Said two split pieces 1', 1'' are then welded at the joining part and integrally joined by welding a triangular plate 2 to the gap part. A flange 3, cover 4 provided with a plug A, breather hole 5, plug 7B, blacket 8, braking flange 10, etc., are thereafter welded. And after machining the axle case part 1B mast support fitting groove 9, tube end part 1C, etc., a hardening treatment is executed on the tube end part 1C.
