    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing extruded coiled tubes for medical purposes wherein a pitch of ribs can be quickly changeable. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for manufacturing extruded coiled tubes TS for medical purposes comprises: rotary shafts 12 protruding from a spindle 11; and at least one extrusion head to extrude a ribbon PT and a rib NR. Each rotary shaft 12 is connected to each flexible shaft 13 mounted on a series of support elements DSC at a substantially equal distance from each other and supported by a main center shaft 19. The ribbon PT and the rib NR are co-extruded side by side and wound on an ideal surface formed by the external surfaces of the flexible shafts 13. For changing the pitch with which the rib NR is wound on a base tubular element ETB, formed on its turn by the winding coil of the ribbon PT, at least two twisting bars BT operated by a crank MN are used to rotate the series of supporting elements DSC with a pre-defined angle.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical heat and moisture exchanger.
      SOLUTION: This medical heat and moisture exchanger (HME) 10 includes a septum (or a filter) 15 formed by pleating a sheet 150 of material capable of retaining and releasing heat and moisture. The HME 10 is characterized in that walls 15a, 15b, 15c of the septum (or filter) 15 are coated partly or completely with sealing material to define at least two exposed areas A1, A2 through which inhaled gas F1 and exhaled gas F2 flow respectively. Moreover, each sheet 150 of material is divided into identical units 150a, fan-folded, in use, one on top of another to form a first set of passages150b through which only the inhaled gas F1 flows, and a second set of passages 150c through which only the exhaled gas F2 flows.

    • An apparatus (10*) for manufacturing extruded coiled tubes (TS) for medical purposes. The apparatus (10) is characterized in that , for changing the pitch with which the rib (NR) is wound on a base tubular element (ETB), formed on its turn by the winding coil of the ribbon (PT), at least two twisting bars (BT) operated by a crank (MN) are used to rotate the supporting elements (DSC) with a pre-defined angle.
