    • An arrow and method of making it. The arrow has a hollow arrow shaft, a single piece adaptor having one end with an outer diameter and a cylindrical bore with an inner surface adhesively engageable about a first end of the shaft and an externally threaded opposite end. An inclined surface surrounds the externally threaded end and tapers inwardly from the outer diameter of the one end towards the bore. The inclined surface has a diameter greater than that of the external threads. The external threads and inclined surface receive and retain an arrow point with internal threads and inclined surface so that impact forces are not transmitted to the inner surface of the shaft. A balance pin has a shaft portion received in the arrow shaft, and a head portion interconnected to one end of the balance pin shaft portion. The head portion has a diameter greater than the shaft portion outer diameter and smaller than the inner diameter of the cylindrical bore. The method comprises the steps of: providing the end adapter and balance pin, inserting the balance pin shaft portion in the shaft opening until the balance pin head portion abuts the arrow shaft, adhesively engaging a portion of the inner surface of the adaptor bore with the outer surface of the shaft, threading an arrow point with an inclined surface on the externally threaded end of the adaptor, and contacting the inclined surface of the outer surface of the inclined point with the inclined surface of the adaptor.

    • Disclosed is a rail-type fence using electricity which includes a plurality of support posts between which are extended continuous electrical wires. The electrical wire is enclosed within and supports a conductive tubular rail. The wire is held against the inner wall of the tubular rail by end plugs and splices. An alternate embodiment of the rail-type fence includes a plurality of electrified wires positioned within the outer surface of the walls of a nonconductive tubular rail. In this embodiment, a conductive end plug transfers electricity from the electrical wire within the tubular rail to the electrified wires embedded in the rail's walls.

    • A fence post and wire support for electric fences wherein the post is made of unidirectional glass fibers in a plastic resin and has a T-shaped cross section. The resulting structure is light but rigid, and has flat surfaces which eliminate the need for an anchor plate. A number of wire-like clips are adapted for crimping around the post or for resiliently engaging the post to form a wire support. The wire-like clips are designed to cooperate with the T-shaped cross section of the post to provide a secure mounting thereto. Alternatively, a rubber-like wire support having two ring portions which fit snugly around the post, and having a hinge portion joining the ring portions may serve as the wire holder.

    • A method for drying a moist organic material which is continuously supplied in a stream includes passing hot air through the moist organic material in a part of the stream to absorb an amount of moisture, whereby the moist organic material cools the hot air into warm air. The warm air is reheated after it exits the moist organic material to form reheated air with increased capability of absorbing moisture, and the reheated air is passed through the moist organic material further upstream, which has a greater moisture content. The drying can preferably be performed in five minutes or less. A method for drying moist organic material using hot air includes providing the moist organic material in a continuous material stream, and providing the hot air in a continuous air stream. The air stream flows in a direction generally opposite to that of the material stream. The air stream is passed perpendicularly through the material stream at a plurality of zones, whereby the hot air absorbs an amount of moisture from the moist organic material in each zone. The air stream is reheated after it exits the material stream at one zone and before it enters the material stream at another zone further upstream.
