    • A heat sink clip (1) includes a main body (50), an operating part (30) movably received in the main body, and a pressing cam (70) pivotably attached to the main body. The main body includes a central portion (52), and two hooks (54) depending from opposite ends of the central portion. The operating part includes a driving portion (34) and a handle (32). A plurality of first teeth (346) is formed in the driving portion. The pressing cam includes a plurality of second teeth (74) that mesh with the first teeth. When the handle is slid, the first teeth drive the second teeth to rotate. The pressing cam accordingly rotates until it is forced against a top surface (3a) of a heat sink (3). The main body is thus resiliently displaced upwardly, causing the hooks to be firmly engaged with a socket (5) on which the CPU is mounted.

    • Methods and apparatuses are provided for facilitating gesture recognition. A method may include constructing a matrix based at least in part on an input gesture and a template gesture. The method may further include determining whether a relationship determined based at least in part on the constructed matrix satisfies a predefined threshold. In an instance in which the relationship does not satisfy the predefined threshold, the method may also include eliminating the template gesture from further consideration for recognition of the input gesture. In an instance in which the relationship satisfies the predefined threshold, the method may further include determining a rotation matrix based at least in part on the constructed matrix. Corresponding apparatuses are also provided.

    • The present invention concerns methods for efficiently supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) on the Forward Packet Data Channel (F-PDCH) in CDMA 2000 1xEV-DV systems. Active speech in VoIP is encoded using, for example enhanced variable rate codec (EVRC), which produces 171, 80 and 16 bits per 20 ms of speech for Rate 1, Rate ½ and Rate ⅛, respectively. However, about 60% of the time a user is inactive during a speech session, so an inordinate amount of system bandwidth is comprised of rate ⅛ VoIP packets. In one embodiment of the present invention the apparatus of the present invention identifies the Rate ⅛ voice frame packets and discards them. In another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus of the present invention identifies the Rate ⅛ voice frame packets and selects some of them for further transmission. In both embodiments the efficiency of channel utilization is increased since the amount of channel band width used to communicate relatively little information, e.g., gaps of silence, is decreased.
