    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating tower defrosting method for melting frost on the surface of a heat exchanger by the heat of brine while giving an efficient temperature rise to the brine distributed in the heat exchanger by combinedly using outside air and for defrosting it at low cost by suppressing the usage of an external heat source. SOLUTION: The method uses a control valve 13 for closing a circulation pipeline 50 ranging to the inlet of the heat exchanger 11 and a bypass pipeline 14 for circulating the brine only in the heat exchanger 11. At the stage of detecting the frost formation on the heat exchanger 11, the control valve 13 is put into a closed state and a pump 15 for the bypass pipeline 14 is operated, and a fan 12 in a heating tower 10 is kept in an operated state. Thus, heat exchange is made between the brine and the outside air in an area of no frost formation on the heat exchanger 11 to give a continuous temperature rise to the brine while defrosting is executed in an area of frost formation by the heat of the brine. This enables energy saving and lower cost defrosting while making required minimum the use of the heater 17, etc. in the process of the temperature rise of the brine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
