    • A method of manufacturing a flat bottom pouch from a single continuous sheet of webbing comprises unwinding the continuous sheet of webbing and forming an outwardly extending transverse lap seam. The unwound webbing is asymmetrically folded to form a folded sheet defining front and back panels. The folded sheet defines a first section and a second section having a folded edge therebetween, wherein the first section includes a first distal edge, and wherein the second section includes a second distal edge. The folded edge is pushed between the first and second sections to form a first side gusseted panel. A portion of the second section is folded between the first and second sections to form a second side gusseted panel. A transverse end seal is formed proximate the lap seam thereby defining a bottom gusseted panel and the first edge is sealed to the second edge to complete the pouch.

    • Systems and/or methods are presented that facilitate determining the contextual influence of a user in referrals of products or services, and determining an amount of compensation for successful referrals based on the contextual influence of the user. A central service component can track activity and receive data associated with referrals, including data related to the number and type of referrals, and the number of successful referrals. An evaluation component can analyze referral data associated with the user and can determine a conversion ratio as the number of successful referrals compared to the total number of referrals. The evaluation component can utilize the conversion ratio to facilitate determining an amount of compensation that can be awarded and distributed to the user based on the influence of the user within the context of the product or service referred by the user.

    • The present invention provides methods and an apparatus for an adaptive physiological monitoring system (10). The physiological monitoring system incorporates a sensor (110) responsive to the physical activity of the monitor-wearing patient. The system monitors one or more physical parameter(s) of the user to distinguish between periods of quiet rest and normal waking activity and communicates non-urgent information regarding a system error or information about the measured physical parameter to the user or to an external system only if one or more physical parameters of the user exceed predetermined threshold criteria The system also suppresses alerts regarding physiological states that are inconsistent with normal patient activity if one or more physical parameters of the user exceed a predetermined threshold. The physiological monitoring system (10) incorporates a sensor (110) responsive to the physical activity level of the user, for detecting directly or indirectly measuring the physical activity level of the user.

    • The invention provides methods and kits for obtaining a prognosis for a patient having or at risk of developing an inflammatory condition. The method generally comprises determining a protein C promoter genotype of a patient for a polymorphism in the protein C promoter region of the patient, comparing the determined genotype with known genotypes for the polymorphism that correspond with the ability of the patient to recover from the inflammatory condition and identifying patients based on their prognosis. The invention also provides for methods of identifying other polymorphisms that correspond with the ability of the patient to recover from the inflammatory condition.
