    • The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software related product for avoiding UL interference in a victim LPN such as femtocell using DRX by the LPN coordinated with the UL DTX of UEs to the LPN and to one or more HPNs such as NBs (or Home NB), e.g., in HSPA systems. The victim LPN may start DRX having ON and OFF periods. Then the LPN sends information about DRX to its UEs (LUEs) communicating with the LPN, and to one or more network elements such as aggressor HPNs' RNCs. The network element(s) are adapted to identify and configure aggressor UEs (HUEs) communicating with one or more HPNs of the network for coordinating ON and OFF periods of the DRX by the LPN with transmissions of the LUEs and the HUEs to avoid interference during the OFF periods of the DRX in the LPN.

In response the UE measures and reports neighbour cells operating on any of that/those frequencies without regard to a threshold signal strength of a serving cell which is configured for reporting neighbour cells. In more specific examples, if the neighbour cells operating on any of that/those frequencies is considered a first set of neighbour cells, then the network also sends a second set of neighbour cells in other downlink signaling. Measuring and reporting on the first set of neighbour cells is less frequent than for the second set of neighbour cells, when measurements of the second set is required. Measuring and reporting on the second set is dependent on measured signal strength of a serving cell being greater than the configured threshold signal strength of the serving cell.

    • Embodiments of the invention are concerned with multicarrier communication support, such as non-adjacent multicarrier support for a contiguous-bandwidth receiver. One embodiment includes receiving one or more carriers in a configurable contiguous bandwidth, calculating an imbalance metric representing a receiving imbalance over a set of carriers, said imbalance metric representing a difference between a first value based on received signal strength indication on each of one or more carriers and a second value based on received signal strength indication on each of one or more carriers, verifying, based on the calculated imbalance metric, whether a threshold condition relating to a current mode of an adjacent carrier mode and non-adjacent carrier mode is satisfied, and reporting an event for triggering reconfiguration of said configurable contiguous bandwidth to switch the current mode between said adjacent and non-adjacent carrier modes, if the threshold condition is satisfied.

    • A user equipment UE obtains channel configurations from each of a serving cell and n neighbor cells which have been determined to be suitable for data communications with the UE, from which the UE creates a combined channel configuration and utilizes it for multipoint communications with those cells. In specific embodiments: the respective channel configurations are obtained from the respective cells' system information; the n neighbor cells are determined to be suitable by the UE comparing each cell's received signal strength/quality against a threshold. The UE may get a neighbor cell list NCL and the threshold and consider each cell on the NCL as one of the n neighbor cells if its signal strength/quality exceed the threshold, then the UE may acquire system information for only those n neighbor cells instead of all cells on the NCL. The UE then reports in uplink signaling that the n neighbor cells are suitable.
