    • A backlight keyboard (100) includes a plurality of keys (120), a light guide plate (140), and an elastic element (160). Each key includes a key cover (124) and a keypad (122) integrally connected to each other. Further, keypad portions of adjacent keys are integrally connected, as well. The light guide plate is arranged below the keys. The light guide plate defines a plurality of through holes (142), each through hole corresponding to one key. An opaque film (144) is coated on a top surface of the light guide plate. The elastic element is positioned under the light guide plate and is configured for exerting a biasing force on at least one key so as to enable the key to return to its previous position when pressed and released.

    • A cover structure (1) for a portable electronic device includes a metallic shell (10) and a plastic mounting frame (9) secured to the shell. The shell has a skirting panel (101) and a bottom panel (100) which cooperatively define a space (102) for receiving the mounting frame. The frame includes a U-shaped part (11) and an arcuate part (12) which are respectively dimensioned to closely fit onto corresponding end portions of the shell. Each of the U-shaped and arcuate parts includes at least one threaded post (112, 121) adapted for engaging with a corresponding fastening member (3), in order to fasten a printed circuit board (2) of the portable electronic device to the cover structure.

    • A metal enclosure (5) is provided on a mobile phone. The mobile phone includes the enclosure, a rear cover (4), and an electronic component assembly. The enclosure is formed as a single piece, and comprises a top wall (51), a bottom wall (54), and a periphery wall (53) between the top and bottom walls. The walls cooperatively define an opening (57) at a rear end of the enclosure. The electronic component assembly is received in the enclosure, and the rear cover covers the opening. The mobile phone is thus completed. Because the enclosure has no joints, it is strong enough to withstand considerable shock. In addition, it provides excellent protection from EMI. Furthermore, it has a smooth attractive appearance.

    • A protective lens (10) for a display includes a transparent glass substrate (12) and a piece of filtering film (14) attached to an inner surface of the glass substrate. A plurality of parallel ink stripes (16) are formed on a surface of the film and are distributed symmetrically from a middle to opposite sides of the film in a predetermined pattern. A method for manufacturing the protective lens is also disclosed. The method includes the steps of (1) providing a mold having a plurality of recesses formed by etching a surface of the mold; (2) filling the recesses of the mold with ink; (3) positioning an elastically deformable body on the mold or attaching the ink in the recesses to the elastically deformable body; (4) positioning the elastically deformable body on a membrane to transfer the ink to the membrane, thereby forming a filtering film; (5) attaching the filtering film to a surface of the glass substrate.
