Exemplary computer implemented methods can include, for example, comparing via one or more computers current ancillary medical procedures used by each of the plurality of physicians with one or more preferred ancillary medical procedures of the insurance network to thereby identify at least one of the plurality of physicians in the healthcare practice who engages in ancillary medical procedures that are not preferred by the insurance network. Such exemplary computer implemented methods can also include, for example, modifying the ancillary medical cost management behavior of the at least one of the plurality of physicians and distributing a predetermined percentage of savings attributed to the modified ancillary medical cost management behavior of the at least one of the plurality of physicians.

The method can also include generating information identifying recommended alternative ancillary medical procedures to modify behavior of a physician or physicians with respect to management of the ancillary medical costs. The method can also determining whether the ancillary medical costs of the physician or physicians have decreased to a preselected/baseline level, and distributing a percentage of a savings attributed to the modified ancillary medical cost management behavior when the ancillary medical costs have decreased to or below the preselected/baseline level.

Embodiments can further include, for example, identifying, in a computer process, physicians who have engaged in ancillary medical procedures that are not preferred by the insurance network, and modifying behaviors of these physicians to reduce the ancillary medical costs of the insurance network. Embodiments can also include, for example, determining, in a computer process, whether the ancillary medical costs of the insurance network have reached at least a preselected level, and distributing a predetermined percentage of saving attributed to reducing ancillary medical costs of the insurance network to the healthcare consultation group.
