    • A barrier device for a traffic bollard to protect movable secondary objects, such a vehicle doors, from damage during contact, such as when the doors are opened. Devices are provided which circumferentially span and connect to the bollard. Various attachment methods are taught, including the incorporation of the attachment device embedded in the device during the molding process. Alternatively, a trench design is disclosed to provide concealment of the attachment device following installation. The use of panels cut from the tread section of used vehicular tire casings is disclosed. One embodiment of this design bonds two such panels together placing the attachment apparatus secured longitudinally therebetween. Draw straps are disclosed as a practical attachment device. Printed images may be applied to the exterior surface to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the device or provide a platform for advertisement material. Similarly, a raised section in the exterior surface caused by a heat stamp process or during the molding process is possible, to form similar images.

    • This invention is directed to a new and simplified method of installing a vehicle window glass in the glass carrier or regulator of a vehicle. By this method the glass can be mounted more securely and in considerably less time than has heretofore been required. A flat washer shaped member, preferably formed of nylon, and having a central aperture and a plurality of circumferentially spaced axially extending angular projections partially overlying the central aperture and having humps at about the mid-section of the axially extending surfaces have become known as "window things", because they do so many good things so well. The inner ends of the axially extending members are of slightly less diameter than are the precut internal diameter of the holes in the replacement window. These members, being formed of nylon, will deflect inwardly sufficiently to permit the slightly enlarged humps of the "window things" to be snapped through the precut holes in the replacement windows. The window is then aligned with the regulator, and the screw is threaded through the regulator and through the "window things" at the flat side of the assembly and through the replacement glass to deflect the axially extending members outwardly to securely clamp the window to the regulator.

    • An overtemperature protector for an appliance having an electrical heating element, the overtemperature protector being formed basically of just a spring blade positionable to bring a contact on the surface of the blade into circuit-energizing engagement with a fixed contact, and an insulator-capped fusible pin retaining the blade in that position. Excessive heat in the appliance softens the pin, allowing the spring blade force on the insulator cap to shear the pin and interrupt the circuit. The overtemperature protector is preferably incorporated in a thermostatic control, the fixed contact being supported on a lateral extension projecting from one circuit element of the thermostat assembly and the spring blade being supported within the assembly with an insulating spacer separating it from the thermostat element having the lateral extension. The spring blade is preferably sickle-shaped for compactness despite having a long length for low force to minimize effects of creep of the fusible pin. The spring blade engages the fusible pin at a point well beyond the contact, the result being that a much smaller force is exerted on the pin for any desired force between the contacts.

    • This invention is directed to a new and simplified method of installing a vehicle window glass in the glass carrier or regulator of a vehicle. By this method the glass can be mounted more securely and in considerably less time than has heretofore been required. An attachment member, preferably formed of plastic or nylon, is provided. The attachment member is reuseable permitting removal and replacement of the existing glass or a replacement glass. The attachment member has a central aperture and a plurality of circumferentially spaced axially extending angular prongs partially overlying the central aperture and having humps at about the mid-section of the extending surfaces. The inner ends of the axially extending members are of slightly less diameter than are the precut internal diameter of the apertures in the replacement window. These prongs, being formed of a slightly pliable material, will deflect inwardly sufficiently to permit the slightly enlarged humps of the attachment member to be snapped through the precut apertures in the replacement windows. By this arrangement the attachment members remain in place while the automobile window glass is positioned by the installation technician. The window is then aligned with the regulator, and the screw is threaded through the aperture of the regulator and through the aperture of the attachment member to deflect the prongs outwardly to securely clamp the window to the regulator.
