SOLUTION: The data acquisition system for an operating machine comprises at least one sensor disposed on the operating machine. The at least one sensor is configured to create a signal for indicating operating parameters for the operating machine. The data acquisition system also comprises an identification module arranged on the operating machine and configured to receive inputs corresponding to a machine operator. Further, the data acquisition system comprises a controller arranged on the operating machine to communicate with the at least one sensor and the identification module. The controller is configured to record and associate the signal and input. Further again, the data acquisition system comprises a communication module to communicate with the controller, in which the communication module is configured to transfer the recorded or associated signal and input from the controller to external systems.
