    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the tilting of each head and the positional slip in the nozzle direction and between heads (in the paper feeding direction) in such a manner that a position sensing slit is provided on both ends of a recording element board, and the position of the head is made detectable by the position of the peak of the light amount by detecting the light transmission between the position sensing slit and a mask which is provided on a recording device main body.
      SOLUTION: On both ends in the arranging direction of nozzles 102 of this recording head 101, sections 120a and 120b through which light permeates are provided. The permeating light is detected between the mask which is provided on the main body and the light permeating sections 120a and 120b. The peak is detected while relatively shifting the main body mask and the sections through which the light permeates of the recording head, and the peak position is made the position of the head. The same operation is performed for a plurality of the heads which are mounted on the recording device main body, and the positions are detected. The relative positions of the heads are compensated in a soft way by an image.
