摘要： A compression fitting is described that is suitable for connecting steel pipes as a first fit device. It comprises an externally threaded housing having a bore for receiving a pipe and a seat around the bore, a polymeric or elastomeric sealing ring adjacent the seat, a nut engageable with the external thread thereby to urge the sealing ring onto the seat, the housing having an inwardly directed stop within the bore adapted to prevent further insertion of the pipe, and a compressible or crushable element in front of the stop. Further, a grip ring, with inwardly directed circumferential teeth on the inner axial face, can be provided adjacent the nut, for engagement with the exterior of a pipe passing through the nut into the bore and to assist in hindering withdrawal of the pipe if subjected to longitudinal forces.

摘要： A supported davit arm extension assembly for a descent apparatus comprising an escape shuttle suspended from a cable defining a descent path from an initial point at a receiver of a platform to a terminal point proximate to a ground surface. The extension assembly comprises a davit arm extending above the platform and secured to the receiver, and a fall arrest trolley operatively coupled to the shuttle at a first end and terminating at a second end extending substantially away from the terminal point. The second end of the fall arrest trolley has a securement point for connection to and support of a load, such as a worker, by an overhead fall arrest. While the shuttle is docked with the receiver, the fall arrest trolley extends over the platform, supported by the davit arm, and facilitates substantially unfettered movement of the worker around the platform. As the worker enters the shuttle, it is disengaged from the receiver and follows the descent path of the cable toward the ground surface. The second end of the fall arrest trolley rides along the davit arm and onto the cable and is thereafter supported thereon through the descent of the shuttle.

摘要： A method for remanufacturing coolers, such as exhaust gas recirculation coolers, is provided. The method includes providing an exhaust gas recirculation cooler (10) having cooling tubes (35) attached to a header plate (40) and an outer shell (12). At least one opening (30) is milled in the outer shell (12) to expose a portion of the cooling tubes (35). Brazing material is then injected into the cooler (10) through the opening such that the brazing material, when heated, forms a fillet around each cooling tube adjacent to the header plate (40). A cover (55) positioned over the opening and the cooler (10) is heated to a brazing temperature, such that the brazing material flows around the cooling tubes (35), thereby reinforcing the tubes (35) and repairing cracks in the tubes (35).
