    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a glass sheet from being damaged or prevent a defect from being formed therein by embedding of a particulate material into the surface of a traction roller or by dropping of the particulate material from the traction roller, concerning the traction roller used for forming the glass sheet.SOLUTION: Traction rollers 200a, 200b each has a shaft member 202, and a soft cover assembly positioned on the shaft member. The soft cover assembly contains one or more traction disks having a plurality of spring members 204 and a circular hub 206 formed integrally therewith. The plurality of spring members are projected from the circular hub to the outside so that each free tip part thereof is positioned on the outside radially from the base end. When the soft cover assembly is brought into contact with the surface of a glass sheet, the spring members are deformed to the inside radially toward the center of the circular hub, to thereby prevent the glass sheet from being damaged.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splice junction part capable of preventing a remarkable loss between an optical fiber having microstructure and a conventional type optical fiber.
