摘要： Various stent structures are provided with improved axial and torsional flexibility. One type of stent structure includes multiple segmented stent structures connected to each other by biodegradable interconnectors. A delivery system adapted to delivery the multiple segmented stents is also described. Another type of stent structure includes biodegradable connectors that are incorporated into a framework of non-biodegradable interconnecting members that form the support structure of the stent. The biodegradable connectors in both stent structures degrade or are absorbed after the stent is deployed. Stabilizing elements may be provided to the stent structures to supplement the stiffness of the stent with stability during loading and deployment.

摘要： A stent graft delivery device has an elongated extension piece extending from its proximal end of the introducer portion. The elongate extension piece is selectively separable from the introducer portion. Two auxiliary guide wires extend from the introducer through the stent graft delivery device and 5 through the elongate extension piece to the proximal end where they cross over and return to the introducer portion. The stent graft delivery device can be introduced into a patient via a femoral artery and the elongated extension piece can extend out an artery of the thoracic arch whereby to extend the auxiliary guide wires out of such an artery. The two wires can then be cut there to give four through and through guide wires. Catheterisation of pararenal arteries is then possible via a brachial route 0 using each of the four auxiliary wires.

摘要： A stent graft (40) for treating Type-A dissections in the ascending aorta (22) is provided with a plurality of diameter reducing suture loops (56-60) operable to constrain the stent graft during deployment thereof in a patient's aorta. The diameter reducing loops (56-60) allow the stent graft (40) to be partially deployed, in such a manner that its location can be precisely adjusted in the patient's lumen. In this manner, the stent graft can be placed just by the coronary arteries (26, 28) with confidence that these will not be blocked. The stent graft (40) is also provided with proximal and distal bare stents (44,52) for anchoring purposes.

摘要： A stent (20) for use in a medical procedure that comprises a series of proximal apices (22a, 22b) disposed at a proximal end (22) of the stent and a series of distal apices (62a, 62b) disposed at a distal end (24) of the stent. A trigger wire (84) is arranged to be coupled to at least one of the proximal apices (22a, 22b) to restrain the proximal end of the stent (22) during delivery. In a first embodiment, a first proximal apex comprises a bore (31) for receiving the trigger wire (84), and a second proximal apex, disposed adjacent to the first proximal apex, comprises at least one barb (42). The trigger wire (84) therefore is only coupled to selected ones of the proximal apices. In another embodiment, a first proximal apex comprises a first bore (31) and a second, adjacent proximal apex comprises a second bore (41 ), such that a single trigger wire (84) may be disposed through the first and second bores to restrain the first and second proximal apices during delivery.
