    • A content owner receives, from a link owner, a first interest message for an authorized link object, wherein the authorized link object links to content of the content owner. The content owner then transmits, to the link owner, a second interest message for a proposed link object based on the first interest message received. The content owner then receives, from the link owner, the proposed link object, wherein the proposed link object comprises a first signature generated by the link owner. The content owner determines whether the link owner is allowed to link to the content and if affermative the content owner transmits, to the link owner, the authorized link object which comprises a first name for the content, the first signature, and a second signature generated by a content owner. If non-affermative the content owner refrains from transmitting the authorized link object.

    • In one implementation, a method includes obtaining a plurality of representations (110, 120, 130) of a digital video asset (100). The plurality of representations (110, 120, 130) may include a plurality of frames (111A-111X; 121A-121X; 131A-131X). The method also includes generating first data comprising data indicative of temporal dependencies and frame decoding dependencies for the plurality of frames. The frame decoding dependencies may include a plurality of switching points (150) between the plurality of representations (110, 120, 130) of the digital video asset (100). The method further includes receiving a request for a first representation of the digital video asset (100) from a first computing device and transmitting the first data to the first computing device based on the request. In another implementation, a method includes transmitting a request for a first representation of a plurality of representations (110, 120, 130) of a digital video asset (100) to a first computing device. The method also includes receiving first data comprising data indicative of temporal dependencies and frame decoding dependencies for the plurality of frames based on the request. The frame decoding dependencies may include switching points (150) between the plurality of representations (110, 120, 130) of the digital video asset (100).
