摘要： An image forming apparatus has an image forming device for forming an image on a recording material in response to an image on a document. The apparatus also has a glossiness detection device for detecting from the document the level of glossiness of the document image. The image forming device is controlled based on an output from the glossiness detection device. With this construction, the level of glossiness in response to the document image can be reproduced on the recording material, thus improving the quality of reproduced images.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve the life of a rotating roller for fixing by consisting a release agent leveling-off means of a lower layer of an elastic material and a surface layer consisting of at least a porous polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) film. SOLUTION: The release agent leveling-off roller 100 has the elastic material layer 101 consisting of a silicone rubber foam or heat resistant felt, etc., and the porous PTFE film 102 on its surface. The release agent leveling-off roller 100 is disposed between a hollow pipe 53b and a release agent regulating blade 53d. The lower layer of the release agnet leveling-off roller 100 consists of an elastic material and, therefore, the nip of a prescribed width may be formed by pressing the roller to a fixing roller 51 under prescribed pressure. As a result, the release agent dropped to the fixing roller 51 from the hollow pipe 53b is evenly leveled off at the time of passing the nip and the dropping traces of the release agent are not generated. Since the roller has the porous PTFE film 102 on the surface layer, the generation of oil stripes by the dislodgment of fibers from the release agent leveling-off member is prevented.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably apply a releasing agent by setting the replenishing timing of the releasing agent supplied to a releasing agent holding member for every fixing process performed once or more times and setting the time for supplying it once within the time required for image forming process performed once. SOLUTION: In an oil coating device 100; silicone oil being the releasing agent is supplied to an oil dripping pipe 101 by an oil supply pump. The oil is dropped to a cleaning felt 102 functioning as the releasing agent holding member or to a fixing roller 10a, made uniform by a regulating blade 103 being a releasing agent regulating member and uniformly applied to the roller 10a. The replenishing timing of the oil supplied to the felt 102 is set for every fixing process performed once or more times and the time for supplying it once is set within the time required for the image forming process performed once. Thus, the oil is stably applied.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fixing speed for a second side from being reduced and yet to realize excellent fixing performance at the time of forming an image on the both sides of one sheet of a recording material. SOLUTION: As for this image forming device, when both sides print is selected (S1), 'full color only' and 'the case that monochrome color is present' are displayed on a display part (S2) of a device main body. In the meantime, when 'full color only' is selected (S3), 'place an original please' is displayed (S4), in accordance with the display, a full color image is printed on the first side of a recording material and thereafter, the full color image of the original on the other side is printed on the second side. On the other hand, when 'the case that monochrome color is present' is selected in S2 (S5), 'place a monochrome color original please' is displayed (S6), in accordance with the display, the monochrome color image is printed on the first side and then, another monochrome color or full color is printed on the second side. Since the monochrome color whose fixability grows worse on the second side is printed on the first side, the fixing speed drop of the fixing defect can be prevented.
