When the capacity is more than the prescribed value, the possibility of the photographing is displayed and release is waited. Then, the photographing and recording is executed. After the recording, information such as the number of photographed pictures or the remaining capacity of the memory, etc., are updated.

CONSTITUTION:The operating mode of a solid-state memory device 10 is set by sending a prescribed command from a camera side to an input line 14. A control circuit 26 decodes a command of the input line 14 synchronously with a clock from an input line 16 to operate each section in the designated mode. Then a memory address corresponding to number of films is stored in an address preset circuit 24 and which order film number is designated and a picture data is accessed at random. Moreover, a recognition code is outputted to the camera side from a storage circuit 28. In this case, the control circuit 26 informs it to the camera side that the data of the line 18 is effective and the storage data in the circuit 28 is sent to the line 18 via a buffer 30 synchronously with the clock.
