摘要： The present invention pertains to a polyethylene polymer characterised by the following properties: A number average molecular weight Mn of at least 2.0*10 5 g/mol, a weight average molecular weight of at least 2.0*10 6 g/mol, a Mw/Mn ratio of above 6, and a strain hardening slope of below 0.10 N/mm at 135°C. It has been found that a polymer with these properties have be converted through solid state processing into films and fibers with good properties. A solid state processing process, films and fibers, and their use are also claimed.

摘要： The present invention pertains to ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene comprising 0.001 to 10 weight % of refractory particles, wherein the refractory particles have an average particle size (D50) below 300 nm. In one embodiment the average particle size is at least 5 nm, in particular at least 10 nm, and/or at most 150 nm, in particular at most 100 nm, more in particular at most 80 nm. In one embodiment the particles are oftransformation toughened zirconia. Shaped objects based on this material, and ballistic materials are also claimed.

摘要： The invention pertains to a process for the manufacture of disentangled ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene in the presence of a co-catalyst comprising trialkylaluminum and a catalyst which is a substituted monocyclopentadienyl, monoindenyl, monofluorenyl or heterocyclopentadienyl complex of chromium or titanium in which at least one of the substituents on the cyclopentadienyl ring carries a neutral donor function which is bonded rigidly, not exclusively via sp 3 -hybridized carbon or silicon atoms, characterized in that the process comprises the following steps in the given order: i) a solvent and a trialkylaluminum-scavenger and optionally co-catalyst are added to a reaction vessel, ii) ethylene is added to the reaction vessel, iii) a mixture of the catalyst and co-catalyst is added to the reaction vessel. UHMW-PE obtainable by this process is also claimed, as are fibers, films tapes and moldings comprising this material, and their use in penetration-resistant articles, gloves, biaxial films, cables, slings, ropes, nets, pipes and prostheses.
