摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device allowing a user to easily build a disk array even when only one storage medium is mounted before shipment.
SOLUTION: A RAID (Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks)-compatible NAS (Network Attached Storage) 100 with only an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) 1 mounted initially includes: a RAID function part 111 executing RAID 1 operation; a notification part 140 transmitting an error report when data cannot be stored in at least one of the HDD 1 and an HDD 2; and a system control part 112 controlling the RAID function part 111 to execute degeneration operation for storing the data only in the HDD 1 until the HDD 2 is mounted, and controlling the notification part 140 to invalidate the error report. The system control part 112 controls the RAID function part 111 to restore the RAID 1 operation from the degeneration operation after the HDD 2 is mounted, and controls the notification part 140 to validate the error report.
