    • The invention is a portable, redundant, barrier-based continuous filter system which employs a two-stage filter. The first stage is a mesh strainer to eliminate sticks and other large debris, and then a second stage consisting of a series of barrier plates which abruptly change the direction of the fluid and thereby encourages sand and other particles to settle at the bottom of the tank. A two-filter system is disclosed that allows for continuous cleaning by employing two filter tanks which alternate between filtering and cleaning cycles. The two tanks are connected with valves so that the fluid first is filtered by one tank, and then switched to the second tank when the first tank requires cleaning.

    • A tension detector may detect and help correct tension in a lift cable. The cable may include a lift cable within a telescopic structure, such as a telescopic tower. The tension sensor may detect when the cable tension is outside a high tension threshold and a low tension threshold and trigger an alert when outside the thresholds. The alert may be an audible alert or a visual alert. A controller may prevent a user from making the tension worse and encourage an operator to correct the tension problem by preventing a winch from expanding or retracting the telescopic structure. The tension sensor may use springs to calibrate the thresholds for the high tension and low tension and a series of pulleys to manipulate an arm to engage a tension sensor.

    • The invention provides apparatus and methods for monitoring and controlling hydrocarbon production wells and/or injection wells from a remote location. The apparatus for monitoring and controlling one or more hydrocarbon production wells or injection wells from a remote location comprises one or more surface control and data acquisition systems; one or more sensors disposed in communication with the one or more control and data acquisition systems; one or more downhole flow control devices disposed in communication with the one or more control and data acquisition systems; and one or more remote controllers disposed in communication with the one or more control and data acquisition systems. Preferably, the remote controller comprises a computer having an internet access disposed in communication with the one or more control and data acquisition systems through a communication device comprising an internet web site server. The method for monitoring and controlling a downhole hydrocarbon production well or an injection well comprises: transmitting data collected by a downhole sensor module to a control and data acquisition system; evaluating downhole operating conditions and optimizing downhole operating parameters utilizing an optimization software program disposed in communication with the control and data acquisition system; and transmitting signals between the control and data acquisition system system and a remote controller utilizing a satellite communication system, the remote controller comprising a computer and an internet browser control access adapted to display operating conditions and parameters and to accept instructions to change operating parameters.

The body includes an interior volume in which water can collect and flow. The body includes sidewalls about the periphery thereof that extend from the rear end toward the front end, wherein the front end is open so that water can flow outward therefrom. A hook extends upwardly from the rear end of the body and is adapted to be positioned over a faucet so that the body is positioned directly under the faucet. A fastener is provided for securing the hook onto the faucet while the drinking device is in use.
