摘要： The invention relates to methods of obtaining an expanded population of mammalian ex vivo cells and/or for treating a mammalian subject by (a) administering to a subject an effective amount of an agent that confers a growth disadvantage to at least a subset of endogenous cells at the site of engraftment; (b) administering to the subject an effective amount of a mitogenic stimulus for the ex vivo cells; and (c) administering the ex vivo cells to the subject, wherein the ex vivo cells engraft at the site and proliferate to a greater extent than the subset of endogenous cells, to repopulate at least a portion of the engraftment site with the ex vivo cells. The repopulated cells can be harvested for further use or be left at the engraftment site of a subject to be treated. The invention also provides methods of treating brain injury in a subject by engrafting ex vivo cells at the site of injury.

摘要： An apparatus and method to implement and control a plurality of minimally invasive therapies in the treatment of a medical condition of a patient based on a treatment plan. The apparatus includes a template which has a plurality of electrically conductive apertures, a plurality of needles which have a plurality of sensors and a processor. At least one of the needles is inserted through and in electrical contact with one of the conductive apertures. The processor is electrically coupled to the template and is configured to send signals to and receive signals from at least one of the sensors of at least one of the needles inserted through one of the conductive apertures. The processor is further configured to process the signals received from the sensor in relation to the treatment plan and to adjust the signals sent to the sensor to control the treatment.

摘要： A containment housing adapted to be supported on a pipe from which hazardous insulation is to be removed. The housing is composed of two sections pivoted for movement between open and closed positions and has openings at its opposite ends through which the pipe may extend. The joints between the pivoted sections and the pipe-accommodating openings are equipped with seals to prevent insulation particles from escaping the housing. One of the pipe-accommodating openings has an area larger than that of the other to enable the seal at the smaller area opening to engage the bare pipe, whereas the seal at the larger area opening engages the insulation. The housing has an outlet at its bottom through which insulation may pass to a disposable pouch.
