摘要： Catheter assembly in which an imaging transducer is positioned proximally of a treatment device at the distal end of a catheter. Unrestricted flow between a fluid lumen in the catheter and the treatment device is provided by an annular passageway formed between the walls of a marker tube which extends through the transducer and a guide wire tube which passes through the marker tube, and by a plenum chamber which is formed between the distal end of the catheter and the proximal end of the marker tube in communication with the fluid lumen and the flow passageway. The catheter, the treatment device, and the transducer are all constructed as individual modular units which can be assembled together as desired to form the assembly.

摘要： Apparatus for producing and conveying air pillows comprises an air pillow production machine which produces a continuous web of air filled pillows, ductwork extending away from the air pillow production machine and through which the web of air pillows is conveyed, and a blower which conveys the web of air pillows from the air pillow production machine and through the ductwork. The web of air pillows are conveyed into a hopper for storage. A sensor senses a condition of at least one of the air pillows in the web of air pillows being deflated or a stall condition of the web of air pillows in the event the web of air pillows stops moving through the ductwork. A controller controls the air pillow production machine in response to signals from the sensor. The sensor and controller are a whisker trigger connected to a micro switch. The hopper has an open top through which the web of air pillows are conveyed, and an opening near a bottom thereof through which air pillows may be pulled by an operator for insertion into a box.

摘要： The invention includes compositions of stem and progenitor cells recovered from bone marrow or cord blood containing most of the viable CD34+ cells and substantially depleted of red blood cells resident in the original sample, without any xenobiotic additives to aid cell separation. The invention also includes a system and method for preparing the compositions. The system includes a bag set and a processing device, which utilizes an optical sensor, microcontroller, servo motor, accelerometer, load cell, and battery. The system and method utilize centrifugation to stratify the cells into layers and then separate and transfer the stem cells into a stem cell bag. The processing device's microcontroller receives input from the device's accelerometer, load cell and optical sensor to direct the metering valve in the bag set to open and close to permit the transfer of as many stems cells as possible with as few red cells as possible.
