    • The invention concerns a sterilizer unit (10) for sterilizing an absorbent body (30), such as a sponge. The sterilizer unit firstly comprises a container (12) for holding a disinfectant, the container providing a soak position (22) and a discharge position (26). The sterilizer unit also includes a discharge unit (14) for cooperation with the container, the discharge unit defines a compression compartment (28) in which the absorbent body can be held. The discharge unit is further movable between a release position in which the absorbent body can be located within the compression compartment and a compression position in which the discharge unit will apply a compressive force on the absorbent body inside the compression compartment. In use the compression compartment can be located within the soak position of the container when the discharge unit is located in its release position, thereby allowing the absorbent body to absorb an amount of disinfectant. The discharge unit can also be moved to its compression position when the compression compartment is located in the discharge position of the container, such that the absorbent body is allowed to dispense the disinfectant which it had absorbed when it was located inside the soak position of the container.

    • Inkjet printing is employed using liquid inks that contain one or more reactive agents that react in situ to form dielectric films on a substrate on which conductive inks or ink receiving inks have previously been printed. At least one of the reactive materials is blocked, so that the reaction does not occur until the material is unblocked by the application of energy during the final film curing process. Illustrative reactive materials are materials with functional groups capable of reacting with active hydrogen, such as isocyanate group, and a second material with functional groups containing active hydrogen, such as hydroxyl. Typical examples are polyols or polyacrylic acids. When additional humectant material is in the ink, a small amount of excess blocked isocyanate is added to the ink to react with additional humectant materials.

    • A method and apparatus for withdrawing fluid from a wound comprising providing a passage between the wound and a collection container with a valve therebetween to control flow of fluid from the passage to the container. Cyclically establishing in the passage a level of vacuum at a selected value higher than the level of vacuum in the container to thereby draw fluid from the wound while the valve is closed to collect the fluid in the passage. The valve is opened in response to the level of vacuum in the passage falling below the select value, as a result of the buildup of fluid therein, to permit discharge of fluid from the passage into the container. As a result of the discharge of fluid, the selected level of vacuum in the passage is reestablished.

    • A ski-carrier module and module attachment apparatus for attaching the ski-carrier module to the bars of a pre-existing modular vehicle roof rack system. The ski-carrier module comprises upward-facing ski pole receptors placed on a lower arm thereby simplifying insertion of ski poles into a ski rack, as well as a hinge assembly capable of being locked and unlocked into multiple raised positions enabling the insertion of skis and ski poles into the ski-carrier module unobstructed by the position of the upper arm of the ski-carrier module. The attachment apparatus for attaching the module to a roof rack bar comprising two wrap-around attachment anchors which are placed around the roof rack bar and then inserted into their corresponding anchor head aperture and anchor head slot. The aperture and slot are located on the underside of the lower arm of the module. The anchor head being designed to tighten the grip of the attachment anchor around the roof rack bar when the aperture is rotated, and the anchor head being designed to tighten the grip of the attachment anchor around the roof rack bar when the anchor head is inserted further into the anchor head slot. The attachment apparatus thereby providing for secure attachment of the ski-carrier module to the vehicle roof rack bar in a simpler and more efficient manner.

    • A vehicle ski carrier system carries a plurality of skis oriented in a position inclined from the vertical. The ski carrier system includes hinged lower and upper arms, and ski carrier inserts attached to each arm. The ski carrier inserts have opposed, alternating flat holding members and curvilinear compression members. When the arms are opened, a pair of skis can be placed against a holding member on the lower arm, and when the arms are closed, an opposing holding member on the upper arm closes on the opposite side of the skis and the opposed holding members are then urged tightly together by the compression members. The ski carrier inserts are of a modular construction.
